All I can say is the last few months have been really hectic, I did a tour of Australia back in November, did Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Byron Bay. It was a lot better than the last time I went out there, a few years ago, when I went unwittingly on the wrong visa and the immigration people decided to get all anal about it and stop me from playing anywhere (it would have been easy to process it while I was there but it was over New Year so the office opening hours were erratic) but anywayyyyyy... SO yeah, Oz was fun, I had to drop out of my New Zealand gig though, the tour managers hadn't got my Visa for NZ done in time and I was faced with having to go on a mission to Sydney and go to the NZ embassy and a whole bunch of polava to get it done, which just wasn't an option...
Oh, hahah! And I nearly got beaten up by a hotel owner in Byron Bay too, long story, none of it my fault, but I managed to diffuse the situation and get out of there safely! I keep meaning to send them a postcard actually! "YOU F*&KING POMMIE BASTARD I OUGHTA F*&KING KNOCK YOUR FAT HEAD OFF RIGHT NOW!!!". Yes. Hard to beleive right?! Basically I turned up at the hotel my itinerary said I had a booking at, but there wasn't one, becuase it had been changed at the last minute and no one had told me. I arrived at 7pm and all the hotels seem to close their receptions at 5ish in Byron bay, just cos its a little coastal town, and I had to call the guy out to check me in (which I thought was fine, as far as I knew I had a reservation, I had it on paper)... The guy had been putting up with 'Schoolies' all week (Ozzie 17 yr old school-leavers) out on the beers every night, and was probably at the end of his tether, not to mention being called out from his home out of hours. Anyway, it was an adventure & an excercise in John B's mighty calming-down-very-angy-Ozzie-Bogan-dudes...
Did a bunch of other gigs when I got home, I forget where right now, then did a mini US tour in Jan, including a few days in Vegas for the AVN Awards and Adult Expo thing, which was indeed mighty fun. I'm editing the video later this week which is sure to be legendary, and I think will violate terms on myspace and youtube with all the boobies, so check back here for a direct link...
